Is it really fully vegan?
Completely. No dairy, no eggs, no honey, no butter. The kitchen is a home kitchen, so we can't promise a total absence of cross-contact with other foods in the house, but nothing animal-derived goes anywhere near the babka itself.
Can I serve it after a meat meal?
There is no dairy in our babka at all — no butter, no milk, no cream, no eggs. Kosher certification is in progress and we'll say more once it's in hand, but as far as the ingredients go, there is nothing dairy in it. When the certificate arrives we'll publish it on this page so you can read it yourself rather than take our word for it.
How much is delivery?
Pickup is free. Delivery within Beit Shemesh and Ramat Beit Shemesh is ₪15. If you're collecting, we'll message you the pickup window and location; if you're getting it delivered, we'll confirm your Friday delivery window. Either way you'll know exactly when — you won't be sitting around waiting.
When do orders close?
Thursday at 9:00am for that same week. We bake Thursday night and Friday morning, and everything goes out on Friday. Order after Thursday 9am and you'll go onto the following week's bake — the order form only shows you Fridays you can still get.
How do I actually pay?
By Bit. Once we've confirmed your order and your Friday on WhatsApp, we send you a Bit payment link in the same conversation. Payment up front is how a one-person kitchen plans ingredients and bake slots — your slot is confirmed as soon as it clears.
Do you have gluten-free babka?
Not yet — we're working on it, and it's the single most requested thing. Gluten-free enriched dough is genuinely difficult and we're not launching until it's actually good. Register your interest above and we'll message you the moment it's ready.
Do you deliver to Jerusalem or Modiin?
Not yet. Right now it's Beit Shemesh and Ramat Beit Shemesh only — one person, one car, one Friday. Message us anyway if you're further out; if enough people ask from the same place, it becomes worth doing.
How long does it keep?
It's at its peak the day it's baked. Wrapped well at room temperature it's excellent for two to three days, and it toasts beautifully after that. It also freezes properly — wrap it tight, then warm it in a low oven.
